Arsenal head into this latest matchday having won just one of their last 14 league matches against Liverpool, a 2-1 home win back in July 2020. They’ve lost their last four in a row but have never lost five league games in a row against Liverpool. Summer recruit Gabriel Jesus has been involved in six goals in his eight Premier League games against Liverpool (four goals and two assists), with all four of his goals against them coming in home games. Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, has two goals and three assists in eight Premier League games this season – only in 2018/19 (4) has the Swiss midfielder netted more goals in a single campaign for the Gunners, while only in 2017/18 has he provided more assists (7).

Liverpool has won their last two away league games against Arsenal, as many as in their previous 20 visits. They’ve never won three consecutive away league matches against the Gunners. Diogo Jota has six goals across eight Premier League appearances against Arsenal, including five in four for the Reds. He is averaging a goal every 67 minutes against the Gunners, the best ratio of any player in competition history against Arsenal to play at least 200 minutes against them. His teammate Roberto Firmino has also scored more Premier League goals against Arsenal (9) than he has versus any other opponent.

Scoreline prediction: Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool
