It’s first vs. third at the San Siro on Sunday, with both sides winning four and drawing two of their opening six games in Serie A this season. Napoli top the table heading into Sunday’s game on goal difference, ahead of both Atalanta and AC Milan, and are looking to remain unbeaten in their first four away games of a season for a third season in a row.

Milan head into the game on the back of a 3-1 win against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday, meaning they have now won more UCL games in 2022/23 than in the whole of 2021/22 and are looking to win seven consecutive home games in Serie A for the first time since 2013.

AC Milan team news

Olivier Giroud made it goals in back-to-back games against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, with Milan hoping he will be able to start for a third time in the last week with doubts over both Ante Rebic and Divock Origi. Stefano Pioli has some decisions to make with new signing Sergino Dest looking for his first start at right-back, while Alexis Saelemaekers made it goals in back-to-back Champions League games and will be hoping to make just his second league start of the campaign.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi are both out.

Napoli team news

Victor Osimhen will be a huge miss for Napoli, with the Nigerian forward expected to be out until October, but Giovanni Simeone is expected to continue up front in his absence. Kim Min-jae and Piotr Zielinski were both rested against Spezia last weekend, but should both comeback into the starting XI after their performances against Rangers in the Champions League in midweek.

Tanguy Ndombele scored his first goal for the club after coming on as a late substitute at Ibrox on Wednesday, but may have to make do with another place on the bench at the San Siro.
