Ones to watch

Fiorentina: Erick Pulgar

Near ever-present this season, Erick Pulgar has been a metronome for Fiorentina in the centre of the park, having completed 828 passes across 23 matches to date.

The 22-time Chile international will again have an important role to play if Giuseppe Iachini’s men are to grab a result, with his creative exploits key to unlocking this Milan defence.

Key stat: Only Luis Alberto (68) and Alejandro Gómez (62) have created more chances in Serie A than Erick Pulgar (61) this season.

AC Milan: Ante Rebic

It’s been a season of two halves for Ante Rebeic who failed to score in his opening seven league matches before turning into a prolific marksman following the winter break.

From not being a guaranteed starter, he’s now one of the first names on Milan’s teamsheet and will no doubt test Fiorentina’s backline this weekend.

Key stat: Ante Rebic has scored five of Milan’s last eight Serie A goals.

Team news

Fiorentina

Giuseppe Iachini has only three players missing for Saturday’s game against Milan. Milan Badelj is suspended while Franck Ribéry (ankle) and Christian Kouamé (knee) are ruled out through injury.

Predicted XI: Dragowski; Milenkovic, Pezzella, Caceres; Lirola, Pulgar, Duncan, Castrovilli, Dalbert; Chiesa, Vlahovic.

AC Milan

There are no fewer than five players missing from Milan’s squad for the trip to Florence this weekend. Léo Duarte (ankle), Simon Kjaer (torn muscle), Lucas Biglia (knee), Alexis Saelemaekers (ankle) and Hakan Calhanoglu (hip) are out with respective injuries.

Predicted XI: Donnarumma; Calabria, Gabbia, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Castillejo, Kessie, Bennacer, Bonaventura; Ibrahimovic, Rebic.

Squawka prediction

AC Milan are on the cusp of securing European football next season but it seems a Champions League return is out of the question for now.

They head into matchday 25 sitting five places and seven points ahead of Fiorentina, who have failed to win either of their last two home matches.

Milan, with the wind beneath their wings, should have enough to leave Florence with all the spoils.

Scoreline prediction: Fiorentina 1-2 AC Milan
