With the Women’s World Cup underway, FIFA 19 gives fans the opportunity to play out the World Cup final for themselves.

Although there were already women’s teams in the game at launch, the Women’s World Cup final kick-off mode allows players to get an authentic experience of the tournament’s showcase at the Stade de Lyon with one of 12 squads present in France.

Italy and Mexico are also in the game but are not part of the Women’s World Cup Final mode – but which team is the most fun to use?

Australia

If you like scoring goals, then Australia are your team to play with.

The Matildas are led by 92-rated Sam Kerr, who is a simply magnificent player to have in any team. The captain has 95 finishing, 92 heading, 92 shot power and 84 long shots, meaning she will be hard to stop from anywhere. Kerr is also superb in the build up to shooting, with 94 ball control and 92 composure.

But Kerr is not alone in the Australia team, with Lisa De Vanna able to cause problems from the right for you. The 83-rated winger boasts 87 finishing with a five-star weak foot, but with her crossing leaving a lot to be desired, she’s best used cutting in and shooting a la Arjen Robben.

Then, slightly further back, Elise Kellond-Knight makes sure your defence has little worries, with 94 for interceptions, 86 strength and decent tackling. Australia aren’t the greatest of teams, but if used right, you can be hard to beat.

Canada

In reality, Canada are not the best team to play with in terms of overall quality with a four-star rating, but they do have one player who is certainly worth using.

Christine Sinclair is a ridiculous striker in reality, scoring 181 goals in 281 appearances for Canada – just three goals short of the all-time record across both the men and women’s games.

So, what better challenge to set for yourself than to (virtually) break the record with the Canadian, scoring four goals in the World Cup final. And she’s certainly capable of doing it, with 88 finishing, 85 heading accuracy, 90 shot power and 87 for volleys. Sinclair also has the ability to cause problems from either side, with four-star weak foot, so what are you waiting for?

France

The hosts of the 2019 World Cup are quite frankly a ridiculous team to play with on FIFA 19. The default formation has 77-rated Valerie Gauvin leading the line, but France’s strength in depth means this can be easily rotated.

One striking option is Eugenie Le Sommer, the 91-rated forward with 94 finishing, 91 heading, 91 long shots, 92 shot power and 89 volleys – in other words, if you shoot from anywhere with Le Sommer, you’re likely to score.

Opportunities for Le Sommer can be provided through left-back Amel Majri, one of the best crossers in the women’s game – 93-rated on FIFA 19. But even with 86 dribbling, Majri’s is just as good defensively as she is in attack. With 87 marking, 86 slide tackling and 87 standing tackling, you won’t be bothered down the left side.

And even if you are, Wendie Renard will be there to mop everything up, with ridiculous aerial stats, boasting 92 jumping, 94 heading and 93 strength. Completing the solid spine of the team is captain Amandine Henry, who is simply a rock in midfield, with 94 marking and 92 tackling her standout stats.

France are probably the most well-balanced team to use on FIFA 19, and it’s no surprise that Les Bleues’ key players are all Lyon stars.

Germany

If you’re one for five-star skillers, then Germany and Dzsenifer Marozsan could be the team for you.

The 91-rated midfielder is an amazing player to have running the game through the centre of the pitch, with five-star skill moves – one of only three women players to be blessed with that in FIFA 19. Naturally, this is accompanied by 88 dribbling, but Marozsan is also a goldmine if you love set pieces. The 27-year-old boasts 94 free-kick accuracy and 93 for penalties, practically scoring for fun from dead-ball situations.

Although the one thing she is caught short in is goalscoring abilities from open play, but that’s where Alexandra Popp comes in with 87 finishing, 91 heading and a five-star weak foot. These two will definitely see you scoring shed loads.

But, if things do go wrong for you, Almuth Schult will be there to stop practically everything thrown at you, with 89 diving and 91 positioning.

And there’s that home kit, specifically designed for the Women’s World Cup, which is sublime.

Netherlands

There may not be a better attacking trio in the FIFA 19 women’s game than the one Netherlands boast.

It starts with former The Best winner Lieke Martens, the 90-rated five-star skiller who can cause problems all day long down the left. The 26-year-old boasts 91 ball control, 90 crossing, 87 finishing and 87 long shots, making her a danger to any defence.

On the other wing is 84-rated Shanice van de Sanden who is a certified pace demon. The fastest woman in the game, Van de Sanden has 96 sprint speed and 95 acceleration, coupled with 83 dribbling, which makes her a real threat on the break.

But these wouldn’t be too effective without someone to finish chances in the middle. That person is Vivianne Miedema, with the striker boasting 89 finishing, 89 shot power, 88 long shots and 87 for volleys; a deadly finisher to cap off a fun front three.

United States

Of course, the best women’s team in the world have to be included, with some wonderful players to use on FIFA 19.

The best woman in the game, Megan Rapinoe is rated at 92. When played in her best position at left midfield, the 33-year-old can cause serious problems with her 94 crossing, 91 curve and 94 dribbling. But that’s not all, the USWNT captain also possesses great ball control and killer passing, both short and long-range.

On the other side of midfield is Tobin Heath, the last of three five-star skillers in the women’s game. Alongside that, Heath also has 94 crossing and 95 dribbling, causing an equal problem to her team-mate.

But all this would be useless without someone to finish. And that’s where 89-rated Alex Morgan comes in. One of the stars of ‘The Journey’ mode, Morgan has 88 finishing and 86 heading accuracy, meaning she will be ready to tuck in the crosses from both wings.

From set pieces, Carli Lloyd is your go-to woman, with 92 free-kick accuracy and 87 penalties, but she can also cause problems from open play with high pass numbers and good dribbling.

And there will be no fears of conceding with Julie Ertz and Becky Sauerbrunn in the team, with the 88-rated pair boasting high tackling stats. If you want to destroy your opponents and have fun while you do it, United States are the team for you.
