Feyenoord vs AZ build-up & previous line-ups:
Heading into the 12th round of Eredivisie fixtures this season Feyenoord sit in fourth on 22 points albeit with a game in hand. Arne Slot’s men are currently four points behind leaders Ajax and can reduce that gap to within one point if they do win that missing outing. The Rotterdammers welcome AZ on a two-game winning streak on a two-game winning streak which has come on the back off having recently picked up one point from six available (2-1 loss at Vitesse and 2-2 draw with RKC Waalwijk). At home this season they’re unbeaten: consecutive wins over Go Ahead Eagles (2-0), Heerenveen (3-1) and NEC (5-3) was however followed up by that aforementioned stalemate against RKC.
Things were looking somewhat dire for AZ following their opening five Eredivisie games. Pascal Jansen’s men had lost four times while picking up a 1-3 win at Heerenveen on matchday two. However, it’s been a complete reversal in their next five matches, the Cheeseheads visit Rotterdam this weekend after winning four times across the club’s past five league duels though suffered a 2-0 loss at Groningen on matchday nine. However, away from home of late AZ have collected four losses from six played, and in 44 previous Eredivisie matches at De Kuip they’ve returned home with 10 wins, the most recent coming last time out in January 2021 when they ran out 2-3 winners.

Player to watch: Guus Til (Feyenoord)
An early contender for signing of the season Guus Til, on loan from Spartak Moscow, has settled well in Rotterdam having already bagged 13 goals across 20 matches in all competitions. Of those efforts seven have come in 10 league outings which places him alongside Ajax marksman Sébastien Haller at the top of the scorers chart. He’s also netted in each of Feyenoord’s previous three home games and this upcoming duel will be special as the 23-year-old attacking midfielder came through AZ’s academy before registering 28 strikes in 96 total appearances. In this fixture Til, then representing AZ, has yet to find the net across five outings and he’s never been on the winning side.
