Alisson

£6m
TOT (H), AVL (A)
Alisson has kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season (20), including 12 at Anfield. His inclusion is a simple one really and, whilst his inclusion may be costly, he’s worth every penny.

João Cancelo

£7.1m
NEW (H), WOL (A)
Joao Cancelo has completed 77 final third passes in his last five games providing one assist; no other Manchester City player has completed more. When you consider that he’s a left back, that stat seems even more impressive. Two very winnable games for Man City as they chase down another Premier League title.

Joel Matip

£5.2m
TOT (H), AVL (A)
Matip has become first choice for Liverpool in the Premier League, with Konate preferred in Europe. Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in seven of Joel Matip’s last eight Premier League starts – and he’s also scored and assisted once in that time. That’s a very impressive return for a modest price.

Thiago Silva

£5.6m
WOL (H), LEE (A)
Chelsea have kept three clean sheets in their last six Premier League away games, Thiago Silva has started in all of them. Silva very quietly goes about his business, not really claiming many of the plaudits but it’s actually been a very good season for the Brazilian. He is likely to start both of these games and both are against attacks that aren’t firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Marcos Alonso

£5.7m
WOL (H), LEE (A)
Marcos Alonso has two goals and one assist, from three big chances created, in his last six games, no Premier League defender has more direct goal involvements in that period. If you are looking for a defender that is likely to bring you some clean sheet points but also provide at the opposite end of the pitch, Alonso looks to be the man.

Riyad Mahrez

£8.6m
NEW (H), WOL (A)
Riyad Mahrez has scored four goals and provided one assist in his last five starts for Manchester City. He continually puts up the numbers and looks to be the best bet if you are bringing in a midfielder who plays much higher up the pitch.

Bernardo Silva

£7m
NEW (H), WOL (A)
Bernardo Silva has one goal, one assist and one big chance created in his last three games for Manchester City. It looked as long Bernardo would be leaving Man City last summer but he’s stayed at The Etihad and really proven that he’s one of the best all round midfielders in the league. We see a big week for Silva against Newcastle and Wolves.

Bukayo Saka

£6.6m
LEE (H), TOT (A)
Bukayo Saka has scored three goals and provided two assists in Arsenal’s last five away games. Saka loves a trip on the road and they don’t come much bigger than a visit across North London in what looks to be a straight shoot out for a Champions League place. Add in a tie against relegation threatened Leeds and Saka could put up some big numbers this week.

Luis Diaz

£8m
TOT (H), AVL (A)
Best January signing ever? There’s certainly a case for it. Luis Diaz has the most shots (10) and joint-most shots on target (4) for Liverpool in their last three games; scoring one goal and providing two assist in those games. He’s rejuvenated the Liverpool attack and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him starting both games after being rested in the Champions League.

Timo Werner

£8.7m
WOL (H), LEE (A)
Timo Werner has had 18 shots, eight on target, and scored three goals in his last five Premier League games. He’s established himself as first choice for Thomas Tuchel and could be a big scorer against two teams who have conceded 16 goals between them over the last five fixtures.

Richarlison

£7.5m
LEI (A), WAT (A)
Everton have scored six goals in their last six games, Richarlison has scored or assisted five of them. If anyone is going to keep Everton up, Richarlison looks to be the man. And for those fans of narratives…he could be the man to relegate his old club Watford on Wednesday evening.

Bench

Kasper Schmeichel (£4.9m, EVE (H), NOR (H)) – The Leicester shotstopper faces two home games this week, both against teams fighting relegation. If nerves get the better of Everton or Watford, then Schmeichel could profit from some big clean sheet bonuses. Certainly not a bad back up if you think he’s a safer bet.

Gabriel (£5.4m, LEE (H), TOT (A)) – Arsenal face a Leeds side that are fighting for their lives near the foot of the table and have fired blanks in their last two games. A riskier match follows with the North London Derby (hence the bench place for Gabriel) but Spurs’ issues in front of goal in recent weeks has been well documented.

James Maddison (£6.9m, EVE (H), NOR (H)) – Maddison has equalled his best season with eight goals and five assists, something he’ll be keen to improve on in the final weeks of the season. Two games against relegation threatened sides could be the perfect time to find the goal or assist to make this his most impressive season so far.

Emmanuel Dennis (£5.9m, CRY (A), EVE (H)) – Dennis is actually the third highest scoring striker in FPL this season, an incredible feat when you consider Watford’s lowly position in the table. If Watford can avoid defeat against Palace, their faint hopes of survival will still be there and a six pointer with Everton would be the ideal time for Dennis to continue a very accomplished debut season in the Premier League.
