10. Kaoru Mitoma vs Bournemouth (H)

  • Price: 6.5
  • Team: Brighton
  • Predicted points: 5.4

Mitoma continues to be the most nailed-on route into a very good Brighton attack, who have scored 15 goals so far this season. Having completed 440 of a possible 450 minutes, Mitoma has four attacking returns in the opening five gameweeks. His creativity has been apparent so far too, with 14 shots and three ‘Big Chances’ created. Mitoma scored the only goal in this fixture last campaign.

9. Julian Alvarez vs Nottingham Forest (H)

  • Price: 6.9
  • Team: Manchester City
  • Predicted points: 5.4

Alvarez will hope to break the curse of the most transferred-in player with a home game against Nottingham Forest. He has seven goal involvements for the season so far and is heavily involved in set-pieces, taking 17 corners to date and sitting second for key passes with 16. Alvarez scored a brace in this fixture last season, with Manchester City coming out as 6-0 victors.

8. Bryan Mbeumo vs Everton (H)

  • Price: 6.9
  • Team: Brentford
  • Predicted points: 5.4

A couple of recent blanks have frustrated Bryan Mbeumo owners but there’s plenty of potential this weekend at home to Everton. Mbeumo has four goals for the season and sits third for ‘Big Chances’ on goal, with six. He has a big involvement in set-pieces for Brentford, too. Opponents Everton are without a clean sheet this season, conceding nine goals in five games.

7. Marcus Rashford vs Burnley (A)

  • Price: 8.9
  • Team: Manchester United
  • Predicted points: 5.5

Since moving to his preferred position on the left wing, Marcus Rashford has come alive for Manchester United, with one goal and two assists in three appearances. He took nine shots against Brighton alone, with only Erling Haaland being able to improve on his tally of 23 shots this season. Burnley have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season, conceding 12 goals in three games.

6. Martin Odegaard vs Spurs (H)

  • Price: 8.5
  • Team: Arsenal
  • Predicted points: 5.5

AI continues to back Arsenal midfielders, despite the fact they face Tottenham in the North London Derby this weekend.

Odegaard is currently on two goals so far this season and is top among Arsenal players for shots. With Martinelli out, we may also see increased set-piece involvement for Odegaard.

5. Phil Foden vs Nottingham Forest (H)

  • Price: 7.6
  • Team: Manchester City
  • Predicted points: 5.6

Foden is the second of three Manchester City players on this shortlist given his favourable fixture this weekend at home to Nottingham Forest (they have just one clean sheet for the season so far).

Foden has three assists in 2023/24, where we have witnessed a big increase in his creativity. He has created 14 key passes and earned an assist in this fixture last campaign.

Adding to his appeal, Foden has taken nine corners and three free kicks.

4. Bruno Fernandes vs Burnley (A)

  • Price: 8.4
  • Team: Manchester United
  • Predicted points: 5.6

Bruno Fernandes remains a sound FPL asset with one goal and one assist so far this season. It’s his underlying numbers which are of most interest, ranking second for key passes with 16. His teammates continue to fail to convert, with one assist from four ‘Big Chances’ created. Injuries elsewhere in the Manchester United squad see Fernandes dominate on set pieces, too, including penalties.

3. Bukayo Saka vs Spurs (H)

  • Price: 8.7
  • Team: Arsenal
  • Predicted points: 5.7

The North London Derby won’t hinder the potential of Bukayo Saka, according to AI.

Arsenal’s talisman has two goals and two assists so far this season and has taken 25 corners to date. He’s also had 12 shots on goal and made 15 key passes in the opening five gameweeks.

2. Mohamed Salah vs West Ham (H)

  • Price: 12.5
  • Team: Liverpool
  • Predicted points: 7

Salah is growing in popularity in FPL, given his promising start to the season. He has delivered an attacking return in every single gameweek so far. Salah also leads the way for ‘Big Chances’ created, with six. Four of these were converted into assists, while only Erling Haaland can improve on Salah’s 6.1 expected goal involvements. Salah has a great record against West Ham, too, with nine goals and three assists in 12 appearances.

1. Erling Haaland vs Nottingham Forest (H)

  • Price: 14
  • Team: Manchester City
  • Predicted points: 10.4

Erling Haaland leads this list once more ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest, with a huge prediction over the ten-point mark. Haaland already has two double-digit hauls in FPL this season and was unlucky not to deliver more against West Ham last time out, having produced 2.56 xG with nine shots and six ‘Big Chances’. He scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season.
