10. Bryan Mbeumo

  • GW13 fixture: Leicester City (H)
  • Predicted points: 5.7

A return to the Gtech Community Stadium should help Brentford talisman Bryan Mbeumo this week, who has blanked in his last three on the road. His record on home turf is sensational, with seven goals and one assist — no player can better his 60 points in home games this season. Mbeumo has the routes to points, given his set piece involvement and penalties. He has scored braces against the previous two promoted teams he’s faced, Southampton in Gameweek 3 and Ipswich Town in Gameweek 9.

9. Alexander Isak

  • GW13 fixture: Crystal Palace (A)
  • Predicted points: 5.8

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak carried the hopes of 20% of FPL players going into the final game of Gameweek 12, with a plum home game against West Ham United. But he failed to deliver a goal involvement for the fourth successive game. His team’s patchy form makes them difficult to predict, with a trip to Crystal Palace next and a return to fitness for Callum Wilson, who has a tendency to adopt the more central positions when on the pitch. Opponents Crystal Palace have conceded six goals in their last four games.

8. Matheus Cunha

  • GW13 fixture: Bournemouth (H)
  • Predicted points: 5.9

Mattheus Cunha is the man of the moment, with a leading seven goal involvements in the last four gameweeks: four goals and three assists. His underlying numbers are equally impressive, with 10 shots in the box and 10 chances created. We also believe that he is on penalties, although his side are yet to win one this season. Opponents Bournemouth haven’t won on the road since Gameweek 3 and are without a clean sheet from their away trips, conceding eight goals in four.

7. Yoane Wissa

  • GW13 fixture: Leicester City (H)
  • Predicted points: 5.9

Brentford’s fixture is so attractive this week that two of their assets make the top 10, with striker Yoane Wissa surprisingly ahead of Mbeumo by 0.2 predicted points. Wissa has eight goal involvements from eight starts this season, including three goals and one assist in the last four gameweeks, all coming in home games. Brentford top the charts for goals in home games this season (18), while they’ve also registered a leading 27 big chances in those appearances.

6. Erling Haaland

  • GW13 fixture: Liverpool (A)
  • Predicted points: 6.3

Erling Haaland’s rapid demise is accentuated here, where he fails to even make the top five ahead of the trip to an in-form Liverpool side. Man City have lost three on the bounce in the Premier League, with just one goal from Haaland in this period. He still remains top for shots on target (7), big chances (7) and expected goals (3.36) in this time and so managers should recognise the risk of selling, but this gameweek feels like the excuse many managers need to part company.

5. Son Heung-min

  • GW13 fixture: Fulham (H)
  • Predicted points: 6.4

Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min continues to show consistency, with his injury problems hopefully now behind him. He’s produced one goal and two assists in his last four starts, with a hugely significant win for his team last time out, beating Man City 4-0 at the Etihad. It feels like a good time to host Fulham, who had a shock 4-1 loss to Wolves last time out. Spurs are the Premier League’s top goal scorers this season, with 27 goals, and so owning a piece of their attack is highly attractive.

4. Chris Wood

  • GW13 fixture: Ipswich Town (H)
  • Predicted points: 6.7

Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood has been a frustrating hold for his owners following his eight goals in the first 10 gameweeks of the season. He blanked in the 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle and then found himself benched for the trip to Arsenal following the international break, having covered significant miles with the New Zealand national team. Managers should back him for at least one more week, with Ipswich the latest visitors to the City Ground, conceding 10 goals in their last four on the road.

3. Bukayo Saka

  • GW13 fixture: West Ham (A)
  • Predicted points: 6.8

Bukayo Saka is a popular transfer target for this week after his latest double digit haul at home to Nottingham Forest, with Arsenal’s fixtures now appealing across the festive period. Despite fitness concerns, Saka has started 11 of Arsenal’s 12 games this season, registering four goals and eight assists. We have seen a slight drop in Saka’s underlying numbers over the last four gameweeks and opponents West Ham have kept clean sheets in their last two games.

2. Cole Palmer

  • GW13 fixture: Aston Villa (H)
  • Predicted points: 7.2

It’s been a quieter spell for Cole Palmer in the last four gameweeks, with just one goal in this period and Mohamed Salah is overtaking him in the ownership stakes. Stamford Bridge continues to be the backdrop for Palmer’s spectacular performances, with five of his seven goals this season being scored there. Chelsea come into this game in reasonable form, while Aston Villa haven’t won in the last four gameweeks, conceding in all of those games. Expect the Chelsea attack to prosper.

1. Mohamed Salah

  • GW13 fixture: Manchester City (H)
  • Predicted points: 7.5

Mohamed Salah justifiably edges out his rivals at the top of the predicted rankings for Gameweek 13 and should be considered as the best captain pick despite the visit of Man City. It’s a good time to face the current champions given their recent losing streak. Salah’s consistency is incredible this season, with eight double digit hauls in 12 appearances, with 16 attacking returns already. He’s scored the most fantasy points of any player in the last four gameweeks.
