FA Cup fourth round draw: Everything you need to know
After a weekend FA Cup action, we are a step closer to knowing all 32 participants of the FA Cup fourth round.
The third round brought the introduction of Premier League and Championship sides after lower league clubs started their FA Cup campaigns in 2019.
A total of 64 teams entered the round with 32 games spread across three days, starting with Saturday. There were 20 games throughout the day, including one all-Premier League tie and 16 matches between teams in different divisions.
Sunday brought another 11 games, including the Merseyside Derby, and there have already been a number of Premier League teams eliminated. Brighton and Hove Albion were the first to go and were shortly followed by Aston Villa, both being knocked out by lower league opposition.
Crystal Palace also fell to a Championship side while Everton lost to Liverpool. In perhaps the shock of the round, League One Tranmere Rovers fought back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Nigel Pearson’s Watford side.
With one game, plus replays, left to go there is still plenty of FA Cup third round action to come, but some teams will already be looking forward to the draw and eyeing their dream scenarios.
