England will be hoping they can secure their spot at the 2022 World Cup when they host Albania at Wembley on Friday at 7:45pm (UK time).

England vs Albania build up, previous line-ups & team news:

England would have hoped to have had qualification for Qatar 2022 already secured going into the November international break but while that isn’t the case their destiny is in their own hands. The Three Lions need four points from their final two games, one of which is against San Marino, and they could still secure qualification as early as Friday. If England beat Albania and Poland fail to win against Andorra then Southgate’s will be guaranteed to finish top of Group I.

For Albania, Friday’s game is a must-win if they are to harbour any hopes of qualifying for their first ever World Cup. The Eagles are two points behind Poland in the final play-off spot having been overtaken following the 1-0 defeat in the previous international break. Now, Albania need to beat England and Andorra while hoping Poland fail to win both of their final games, against Andorra and Hungary.

  • England (vs Hungary): Pickford, Walker, Stones, Mings, Shaw; Foden, Rice*, Mount*; Sterling, Kane, Grealish.
  • Albania (vs Poland): Berisha; Hysaj, Ismajli, Kumbulla, Veseli, Trashi; Roshi, Ramadani, Bare, Uzuni; Manaj.

Marcus Rashford and James Ward-Prowse have pulled out of the England squad, with Emile Smith Rowe coming in. Declan Rice and Mason Mount are also unavailable, while Jack Grealish is a doubt.
