Emma Raducanu has endured a testing year following her US Open triumph in 2021, in which she’s struggled with injury issues and problems with finding a stable coaching team. The British No. 1 has had three mid-match retirements in 2022 alone, but there were no such issues in her First Round win over Alison Van Uytvanck earlier this week.

The teenage prodigy famously rose to prominence in London’s annual showpiece last year after making her Grand Slam main-draw debut in South West London, a stone’s throw from her childhood home in Bromley, where the then-wildcard candidate became the youngest British woman to reach the last 16 in the Open Era.

She now takes on Caroline Garcia this year, with the Lyon-born right-hander being involved in a bit of history of her own at Wimbledon. In the First Round she was involved in the first women’s singles main draw match of Wimbledon to feature a ten-point tie break after taking down Yuriko Miyazaki.

Prediction: Emma Raducanu to win in three sets
