Emi Buendia transfer news: Arsenal favourites for January deal
Arsenal remain the Sky Bet favourites to sign Norwichmidfielder Emiliano Buendia in the January Transfer Window.
Mikel Arteta has set his sights on bringing in a creative midfielder in the coming weeks after reportedly failing with a late move for Houssem Aouar during the summer window.
Arteta must first trim his playing squad and to that end the Gunners are said to be exploring a deal for Buendia, who has scored seven goals for the Canaries in the Championship this season.
Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson are reportedly among the players Arsenal are prepared to send in the opposite direction in a bid to land Buendia. The Independent has claimed talks have already taken place with his agent, though a deal is not considered close.
In fact, Norwich are adamant the 24-year-old will not depart in the winter window. Speaking after Buendia’s spectacular volley secured three points against Barnsley last Saturday, Canaries boss Daniel Farke said: “Emi is a key player for us, an important member of the group, and he is totally committed to us.
“He is our player and will continue to be our player – he is on a long-term contract with the club so we keep him.”
Buendia (11/8 to join Arsenal before February 2) with a move to arch-rivals Tottenham priced at 8/1. The Argentine has also been linked with Everton (9/1) as they continue to improve under Carlo Ancelotti.
