This will be the eighth meeting between the pair, with Daria Kasatkina currently leading the head-to-head 5-2. However, both players have one win apiece this season, with Kasatkina winning the aforementioned first round tie in Washington DC and Mertens coming out on top by two sets to one in Miami back in March (4-6, 6-2, 6-2).
