“We have a lot of offers from top, top clubs” — Eduardo Camavinga’s agent confirms interest in Rennes star
The agent of Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga has confirmed his client has received “a lot of offers from top, top clubs”.
Camavinga, 18, is the latest precocious starlet to emerge from France’s seemingly endless production line of talent.
The Angola-born France international has enjoyed a stratospheric rise at Rennes, naturally alerting Europe’s covetous elite of his midfield exploits.
Despite his age, Camavinga was the heartbeat of Julien Stephan’s midfield last season as Rennes shocked Ligue 1 and finished third, securing Champions League football in the process, where they met Chelsea in the group stages earlier this season.
The teenage midfielder has continued to impress this campaign and talk of a move away from Roazhon Park has started to gain traction, with his agent confirming tangible interest from across the continent.
Jonathan Barnett, who also represents the likes of Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish, told SNTV: “Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones. I mean top, top clubs. We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age.
“Playing in a good club is nice for him. It might be this year, or he wants to have another year. He has got to talk to his family, his father. We will all sit down and decide. We will talk to Rennes as well and decide. There is no rush for him.
“He’s probably the best young player in the world. He has just turned 18. He has already been a French international. He’s an unbelievable talent. He could play in any team in the world. He is still going to be a great talent at 19. It’s not that old you know, 19.”
Camavinga: It’s flattering when teams like Real Madrid and Bayern are interested
The midfielder recently went on record to detail his appreciation of the reported interest coming from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Two heavyweights of the continent, both the Bundesliga champions and Los Blancos are thought to be keeping tabs on the talented youngster.
Responding to the speculation, Camavinga recently told Telefoot: “It makes you feel flattered and it’s nice that teams like Real Madrid or Bayern are interested in your situation.
“I’m not going to lie, but I have not yet thought it over with my family.”
