Ebanie Bridges explains why Leeds United fans are “the best” in the Premier League
IBF bantamweight title-holder Ebanie Bridges is not your conventional Leeds United fan — but she’s made Elland Road her sacred home.
The Australian boxer, colloquially known as the “Blonde Bomber” (due to her golden locks and explosive punching power), has endeared herself to the Leeds United faithful in recent years, and even won her world title in West Yorkshire back in March.
A unanimous points decision against Argentina’s Maia Cecilia Roman, in which Bridges outfought and outmanoeuvred her South American counterpart in a mesmeric exhibition of tenacity and enterprise, propelled her to superstardom.

It was her second fight on the undercard of Josh Warrington, Leeds’ prodigal boxing son, who reclaimed his IBF featherweight title against Kiko Martinez at the First Direct Arena in the city. Both came up trumps in a memorable night for Leeds.
During the bout, Bridges’ fistic attire was typically embellished in Leeds United representation; the club crest was emblazoned on her shorts, and the purple hue mirrored Leeds United’s violet away kit from the 2021/22 season.
The 36-year-old Sydney native has previously explained her connection to the city, despite residing in Mark Tibbs’ East End gym and originally hailing from Down Under, revealing her Aussie compatriots, Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell — who both played for Leeds — inspired her love for Elland Road.
