Which Borussia Dortmund players could take to the field?
There have been plenty of comings and goings at Borussia Dortmund already this summer with eight players joining the club and 10 departing. The biggest transfer story involved Haaland, who left the club for €60m to join Premier League champions, Manchester City. He’s been replaced by two players, Karim Adeyemi, who joins for €30m from RB Salzburg, and Sebastien Haller, with Dortmund paying Ajax €31m for the striker. Both could be on show against Dresden but it’s likely Haller won’t take the pitch with his transfer only being confirmed on Wednesday.
Defensively, Dortmund have a new look too. Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck have joined the club from Bayern Munich and SC Frieburg respectively and both are likely to be starters for the side. The senior players who could be on show in Dresden include:
Gregor Kobel, Mateu Morey, Nico Schlotterbeck, Salih Ozcan, Gio Reyna, Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji, Youssoufa Moukoko, Alex Meyer, Emre Can, Niklas Süle, Jude Bellingham, Donyell Malen, Julian Brandt
This game is the second pre-season friendly for Dortmund, following their 3-1 over Lüner on Tuesday. They then take on German lower league side, SC Verl before welcoming Spanish opposition to Westfalenstadion with both Valencia and Villarreal pay a visit. The Bundesliga season then begins on August 6, with a mouthwatering home tie with Bayer Leverkusen to open their campaign.
Scoreline prediction: Dynamo Dresden 0-3 Borussia Dortmund
