KF Drita vs Feyenoord build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

KF Drita are enjoying their third season in European football and will have their eyes on a first-ever group stage appearance, though that is still some way away. The Kosovan side started the past two campaigns in Champions League qualifying before dropping down to the Europa League, making it as far as the third qualifying round last season. This year, after finishing second in their domestic league, Drita have already had to get past Montenegrin side FK Decic, winning 3-1 in the first round. However, they have a massive task ahead of them.

Feyenoord’s decline after winning the Eredivisie title in 2016/17 continued last season as they finished fifth, missing out on the Europa League and instead qualifying for the inaugural Europa Conference League campaign. In preparation, Feyenoord have had a busy pre-season, playing six games so far, winning three, drawing two and losing once. AEK Athens, Zurich and Werder Bremen were the teams to fall, with the latter part of a double-header on the same day – the other game ending in a draw. Young Boys are the only team to have beaten Feyenoord in pre-season, running out 2-0 winners in Switzerland.

  • KF Drita (vs Decic): Maloku; Limani, Jamal, Blakcori; Vucaj, Jashari; Muja, Fazliu, Ajzeraj; Simonovski.
  • Feyenoord (vs Werder Bremen): Bijlow; Pedersen, Fer, Senesi, Malacia; Toornstra, Kokcu; Linssen, Til, Sinisterra; Bozenik.

Luis Sinisterra has been confirmed fit enough to play for Feyenoord on Thursday after suffering an injury in the friendly win over Werder Bremen. New signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh has not travelled, while Achraf El Bouchataoui is also absent.

Key player: Luis Sinisterra (Feyenoord)

Following the sale of Steven Berghuis to Ajax, Feyenoord will be hoping Luis Sinisterra can step up this season to help replace him, starting with Europa Conference League qualifying. Berghuis was Feyenoord’s top scorer and assister in the Eredivisie last season, scoring 19 goals and setting up 13.

Second to Berghuis in assists was Sinisterra, who created five goals in the Eredvisie at an average of 0.33 per 90 minutes, while also creating 24 chances (1.58 per 90 minutes). Adding four goals to his five assists, Sinisterra had a decent season at Feyenoord considering he missed the first part of the campaign still recovering from a cruciate ligament injury picked up in February 2020. With a full pre-season under his bed, Sinisterra can be the man for Feyenoord.
