Diego Costa transfer news: Wolves favourites to sign former Chelsea star

Wolves are at the front of the queue to sign former Chelsea striker Diego Costa during the January Transfer Window.
The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer after Atletico Madrid agreed to terminate his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano on the eve of the new year.
“He felt the need to find a new challenge… Wherever he goes he will do well, because he’s a fighter,” Atletico boss Diego Simeone said.
Costa has no shortage of options but Wolves have emerged as early 5/6 favourites with Sky Bet. With Raul Jimenez recovering from a fractured skull, Nuno Santo Espirito’s side have looked desperately short of a presence up front and urgently need someone to fill the void left by the Mexican.
Transfers completed before January 31.

Costa could fit the bill. The striker is also represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has very close ties with Wolves and is perhaps the reason why the club are such heavy favourites to land the Spain international.
Everton (6/1), Arsenal (8/1) and Tottenham (10/1) are also considered possible destinations but a return to Brazil is also a strong possibility, with Sky Bet pricing a move to any Brazilian club at 4-1.
