The Lions are in a good spot to try and build something until the end of the season now following a confidence boosting heavy win over the Jaguars last time out. That made it four wins in five and with only a narrow defeat to the Bills interrupting that sequence they are in a good place to take on their divisional rivals.

Kirk Cousins is perhaps easier to sack than Goff but the Vikings have demonstrated a greater variety to their attacking game. Justin Jefferson has been sensational of course, and shutting that route down for the Lions defense will be of great importance, but Dalvin Cook could be a big player for the Vikings here. Lions’ defense has improved but can still be vulnerable to a well executed running game and Cook sits fifth in the NFL for rushing yards this season.

This could be quite a tight clash, despite the apparent mismatch in terms of seasonal win-loss records. I am going to favour the Lions to come out on top with the Vikings just creaking under the pressure to seal the division. Goff is on a bit of a roll right now and the Vikings defense might find him too slippery to stop.
