For Roberto Bautista Agut, the Halle Open is his first appearance on grass this year, sitting out the first batch of tournaments following the French Open — though that only finished two weeks ago. The Spaniard had an underwhelming French Open, bowing out at the second round in defeat to Juan Pablo Varillas despite being seeded and leading 2-0 in sets.

Bautista Agut has had no such problems at the Halle Open so far, as he looks to avenge last year’s quarter-final defeat to Medvedev. In the first round, Bautista Agut beat Andrea Vavassori in straight sets, before securing a 7-5 7-6 (2) victory over Brandon Nakashima.
