Daniel James is an “exciting” signing for Man Utd, says Ryan Giggs
Wales boss Ryan Giggs believes former club Manchester United have signed an “exciting” player in Daniel James.
The 21-year-old Welsh forward is on the verge of completing a £15m move from Swansea City to United who are braced for a summer rebuild job under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

James subsequently becomes the record 20-time English champions first major acquisition before the 2019/20 season — a rare signing for them from a Championship club.
A talented right-footed forward, who prefers to be deployed on the left flank and cut inside, his standout performances for Swansea – whose academy he graduated from – earned him a first international cap for Wales under Giggs in November 2018.
His debut away to Albania, which saw him start and play four minutes shy of an hour, ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat but he’s since been involved and in his second appearance scored the winner in Wales’ 1-0 Euro 2020 qualification victory over Slovakia at home earlier this year.
Giggs, who has followed his progression with a keen eye, is in no doubt he’d fight right in at Old Trafford and grace the same left wing like he did for so many years

“He’s assured me that he’s ready to play but we’ll have to see how we go,” he told reporters.
“You have to be flexible because you don’t want things weighing on players’ minds, so if you can get it sorted it’s better for us and for the player as well.
“If it happens, United are getting an exciting player that I know Man United fans will get behind and enjoy watching him.
“It’s fantastic for everyone – for Dan, for Manchester United and a good deal for Swansea City as well.”
We're delighted to have agreed terms, in principle, with Swansea City for the transfer of Daniel James to #MUFC.
Further details will be revealed in due course.
