Gary Neville urges Cristiano Ronaldo to break silence after his tell-all promise “in a couple of weeks”

Gary Neville has implored Cristiano Ronaldo to clarify his Manchester United future after the Portuguese superstar promised to reveal “the truth” about his current situation “in a couple of weeks”.
Ronaldo’s future has been one of the main talking points this summer, particularly after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner missed Man Utd’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia and then started on the bench in the club’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton.
He was restored to the starting XI against Brentford at the weekend, but Erik ten Hag once against endured a deflating loss as the Bees ran riot in a famous 4-0 victory, leading by four goals after only 35 minutes into the match.

Speculation has been mounting throughout the summer that Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford and join a club currently competing in the Champions League, but the legendary forward has since slammed the media for “telling lies”.
In an Instagram post, Ronaldo commented that everyone will “know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks”, but former team-mate Neville has now urged the 37-year-old to not leave fans waiting with bated breath, instead imploring him to “stand up now and speak”.
The defender-turned-pundit tweeted: “Why does the greatest player of all time (in my opinion) have to wait two weeks to tell Manchester United fans the truth? Stand up now and speak.

“The club is in crisis and it needs leaders to lead. He’s the only one who can grab this situation by the scruff of the neck!”
Ronaldo’s latest social media outburst is unlikely to placate speculation on his future, and will possibly only add fuel to the fire. Recent reports suggest Ten Hag has reconsidered his initial transfer stance on Ronaldo and will now consider letting the frustrated forward leave.
Ten Hag has been actively pursuing reinforcements this summer to bolster his side, with Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha the latest name to crop up as a potential target, while the club continue to look at available midfielders as the Dutchman looks to fix an already-concerning start to his tenure.
