It has been a strong qualification campaign for China, who have won eight of their 10 matches in Group F of the second round, and already confirmed their place at the event in August. This will be the nation’s 10th appearance at the World Cup, coming after they hosted the previous tournament in 2019.

Aleksandar Dordevic’s Team Dragon have racked up an impressive +143 points difference in the qualifying group, and currently sit second behind table-toppers Australia, whose only defeat came by virtue of forfeit as they were inflicted an automatic 20-0 loss to Iran in November.

That result could have huge ramifications for Kazakhstan, who are currently on the outside looking in. Renatas Kurilionokas’ Snow Leopards are a place below the top four (the automatic qualification places), and only a point behind third-placed Iran, placing a huge emphasis on this showdown.

Having never qualified for the World Cup before, Kazakhstan will be giving their all in these concluding games to try and make history. China, of course, are already through to the summer’s spectacle event, but they will be hoping to avoid complacency creeping in to keep the momentum going.
