The seven-year-old, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, goes into the race having won the Memorial Chase at Punchestown in December before triumphing in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown last month.

Another of Mullin’s horses, Stattler, who was victorious in the National Hunt Chase last year, is also fancied along with the reigning Gold Cup champion A Plus Tard, ridden by Rachel Blackmore.

Cheltenham Gold Cup 2023: EW tip

If you’re in the market for an attractive EW bet, then Minella Indo – ridden by Mark Walsh – is an option for you. This horse famously ended Al Boum Photo’s run of back-to-back wins in this race to claim the Gold Cup in 2021.

Sky Bet are paying out on five places for the Gold Cup, and the Irish ten-year-old excels on soft ground.
