Chelsea and Liverpool clash in the FA Cup Final on Saturday with The Blues hoping for revenge following their League Cup Final loss in February (4.45pm kick-off, UK time).
It’s nearly FA Cup final day with Chelsea and Liverpool fans both descending on the capital to see their sides face off at Wembley Stadium once again. Liverpool came out on top when these two sides met in the League Cup final this season, winning the tie on penalties. This will be a different challenge for both sides though as the biggest cup final in English football arrives on Saturday.

Chelsea team news vs Liverpool: Selection headache for Tuchel
- Outs: Ben Chilwell, Callum Hudson-Odoi, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic
Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has a selection dilemma in the centre of midfield heading into the FA Cup final this weekend with both Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante both major doubts to start the game. This leaves Tuchel with a big decision over who partners Jorginho in the middle of the pitch in what is likely to be a key battleground in the showpiece final.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is the most likely candidate to slot in the central role, having played in a wider position in recent weeks. Reece James is back to full fitness and should occupy the right hand side leaving Loftus-Cheek to reprise his preferred role in the engine room of the side.
At a press conference on Friday, when asked about Kovacic’s injury, Tuchel said “We will try it today. The medical department gave the green light to try it. “There is no new injury but heavy pain, heavily swollen. So we’re hoping that maybe time is enough that he makes it.”.
The rest of the side should be fairly settled with the danger from Marcos Alonso and Christian Pulisic, down the Chelsea left, likely to be key to their success this weekend. This will also be one of the last games that Antonio Rudiger will play for the club and he’ll be keen to sign off with a trophy.
Romelu Lukaku is the most likely to lead the line following his goal against Leeds in midweek but Timo Werner is waiting in the wings to punish Liverpool, a club he was heavily linked with before signing for the Blues.
