Juventus can begin their Serie A title procession when they travel to Cagliari on Wednesday at 8:45 PM.
Maurizio Sarri’s men confirmed their ninth consecutive title with a 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday night — a game in which Cristiano Ronaldo netted his 31st league goal of the season — and can now enjoy their final two matches of the season free of the pressures of fending off the chasing pack. That starts with an away trip to Cagliari, who themselves have little play for having long since secured their Serie A safety.
Juventus are now one of three European teams currently on a run of nine consecutive league titles, alongside Celtic in Scotland and Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets. Although the world record for consecutive league titles is thought to have been set by Tafea in Vanuatu between 1994 and 2009, this sort of dominance is a rare feat among Europe’s top five leagues.
Bayern Munich are currently on a run of eight straight Bundesliga titles, while PSG have won seven of the last eight Ligue 1 title races. Beyond that, Lyon lifted Ligue 1 seven times in a row between 2002 and 2008, while Real Madrid have twice put together runs of five straight La Liga crowns. In England, the record for consecutive titles stands at just three and has been achieved by only Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Huddersfield Town.
Closer to home in Italy, AC Milan’s 2010/11 title win is sandwiched between Juventus’ current spell of dominance — which has now seen them record a total of 36 Serie A titles — and Inter’s run of five consecutive wins between 2006 and 2010.

Player to watch: Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus)
Juventus may have been crowned as Serie A champions once again but that doesn’t mean the season is over just yet, especially for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portugal international has netted 31 league goals so far this season — 41% of the Old Lady’s total — but still finds himself three behind Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, who bagged a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Verona in his last match.
You won’t need reminding how high Ronaldo sets the bar for himself so while there is still life in the race for the Capocannoniere, expect the 35-year-old to do everything in his power to close the gap on Immobile over the next two games.
Scoreline prediction: Cagliari 1-3 Juventus
