Brazil vs Uruguay build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

Although they drew 0-0 with Colombia last time out, Brazil are in cruise control on their way to Qatar 2022. Tite’s side won their previous nine qualifying matches while, heading into this one, they have the best goals scored (22) and conceded (3) records in the group. Uruguay are never an easy opponent, but Brazil will be fully expected to extend their unbeaten run.

A trip to Brazil couldn’t have come at a worse time for Uruguay. La Celeste have taken just one point from their last two games without scoring a goal, finding themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 beating against Argentina last week. They still occupy the fourth and final automatic qualification spot, but Uruguay are just a single point clear of Colombia and need to get back to winning ways quickly.

Player to watch: Neymar (Brazil)

As if he needed any extra motivation, Neymar will be keen to help Brazil deliver all three points here in the light of his announcement that next year could be his last World Cup. The PSG forward made the admission that football is taking a toll on him mentally.

“I think it’s my last World Cup,” the 29-year-old said. “I see it as my last because I don’t know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football anymore. So I’ll do anything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realize my greatest dream since I was little. And I hope I can do it.”

Neymar already has six goals in this qualification campaign, leaving him level with Lionel Messi and two behind leading scorer, Marcelo Moreno. He’s also just eight goals short of Pele’s goalscoring record and with his games at this level now seemingly numbered, there’s no time to waste in closing that gap.
