Claude-Maurice casts doubt on Arsenal move with Bundesliga confession

FC Lorient midfielder Alexis Claude-Maurice confirms he wants to join Borussia Monchengladbach amid strong Premier League links.
The 21-year-old French under-20 international has been heavily associated with a move to Arsenal and West Ham.

Since coming up through FC Lorient’s academy Claude-Maurice has gone on to make 59 appearances in all competitions for the first team registering 18 goals and creating four more.
A left-sided midfielder, who is also capable of playing behind the centre-forward or on the flank, Claude-Maurice sees his present deal with the Ligue 2 club expire in June 2021 but feels he’s ready to make a step-up this summer.
With Les Merlus failing to secure promotion to the French top-flight, it now looks certain the Parisian will leave the Stade du Moustoir, and he has now revealed his ideal transfer would be to the Bundesliga.

“I want to join Gladbach [Borussia Monchengladbach]. They are a club that focus on young players,” he told L’Equipe.
“They are a club that focus on young players, there is a good structure and they are playing in the Europa League. I like their project and it suits me.”
