Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to keep hold of their commanding lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table when they travel to face Bordeaux on Saturday at 8pm (UK time).

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently eight points clear of second-placed Nice and have dropped just four points from their opening 12 games. Bordeaux, meanwhile, are sitting just outside the relegation zone.

Bordeaux vs PSG build-up, previous line-ups & injury news:

Bordeaux have really been struggling in Ligue 1 this season, winning just two of their opening 12 matches to sit just three points above what would be the relegation play-off spot. But their low standing isn’t so much down to defats, losing just four times, instead it’s their tendency to draw matches. Last weekend, Bordeaux beat Reims 3-2 to move above their opponents in the table, ending a five-game winless run which included four draws and only one 3-0 defeat to Monaco.

PSG fans aren’t overly happy with their season, as the team struggle to gel on the pitch. But for the board it may not matter too much as the Parisians currently sit comfortably clear at the top of the table and already look a certainty to retain their title. Pochettino’s men won their first eight games of the season before finally dropping points in a 2-0 defeat Rennes. Two more league wins have followed including one over defending champions Lille last weekend, but PSG have also drawn with Marseille.

  • Bordeaux (vs Reims): Costil; Pembele, Koscielny, Gregersen, Mangas; Fransergio, Lacoux, Adli; Dilrosun, Elis, Oudin.
  • PSG (vs RB Leipzig): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Mendes; Gueye, Pereira, Wijnaldum; Di Maria, Mbappe, Neymar.

PSG remain without Marco Verratti, Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi, but Jean Onana and Otavio are available to return for Bordeaux following suspension.

Player to watch: Neymar

With Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the team, some attention has been taken away from Neymar at PSG, and the Brazilian’s poor form has flown somewhat under the radar.

Now Neymar is a fantastic player and one of the best in the world, but he has not been at his best this season. In 10 games across all competitions so far, Neymar has been directly involved in just four goals, scoring one and providing three assists.

He is currently on a five-game run without a goal in Ligue 1, his longest drought since joining PSG in the summer of 2017. But this weekend may bring the best opportunity and opponent for him to end that run.

Since moving to Paris, Neymar has scored five goals against Bordeaux in Ligue 1, with Les Girondins his joint-favourite opponents in the division alongside Angers and Monaco.

Neymar has scored five goals against Bordeaux in Ligue 1, his joint-favourite opponent in the top-flight alongside Angers and Monaco. However, the Brazilian hasn’t scored in his last five Ligue 1 games, his longest drought since arriving in Paris in the summer of 2017.
