Bologna vs Verona build-up & previous line-ups:

Since returning to Serie A in 2015 the Greyhounds have never finished above 10th place, subsequently averaging 11 wins per season. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men started this campaign with a narrow 3-2 win over newcomers Salernitana before picking up a hard-fought point at Atalanta just before the recent international break. Bologna also come into this Monday’s clash unbeaten in their last six league matches against Verona (three wins plus three draws) and they haven’t conceded a goal in 55% of their home games against Verona in Serie A (12/22).

As for Verona, they finished two places and four points above Bologna last season but Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have begun this season on a frustrating note. After the opening two rounds Verona stood as one of five Serie A teams without a point to their name. I Mastini started with a 2-3 home defeat against Sassuolo before suffering a 1-3 loss at the same venue to Inter Milan. Those aforementioned losses means Verona hasn’t won any of their last 11 league games (four draws and seven losses), the last time they had a longer streak in Serie A was back in January 2016 (24 matches).

  • Bologna (vs Atalanta): Skorupski; De Silvestri, Medel, Bonifazi, Hickey; Domínguez, Michael; Orsolini, Svanberg, Sansone; Arnautovic.
  • Verona (vs Inter): Montipò; Magnani, Ceccherini*, Günter; Faraoni, Ilic, Hongla, Lazovic; Cancellieri, Zaccagni; Barak.

Federico Ceccherini is out for the visitors.

Player to watch: Giovanni Simeone (Verona)

After three seasons with Cagliari it was all change for Giovanni Simeone this summer when he joined Verona on a season-long loan. The 26-year-old marksman is yet to appear for his new club this season having been an unused substitute in their loss against Inter Milan on matchday two. He’ll be hoping to make his long-awaited debut against Bologna whom Simeone has previously registered four goals past in Italy’s top division, including three in his last four appearances. Only against Torino (six goals) has the five-time capped Argentina international found the net more in Serie A.
