UEFA Euro 2024 begins on June 14th with the hosting team opening the tournament against Scotland at the Fußball Arena München.
The kick-off officially starts the group stage of the tournament.
Group Stages
The group stage is the first official stage of the tournament, following the qualifiers which have already taken place.
There are a total of six groups in Euro 2024. Each team will play three matchdays in the group stage, one game against each of the other teams in the group. At the end of these games, the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.
Four out of the six teams finishing in third place in the group stage will also advance to the knockout phase. This is decided on the ranking of third-place teams against each group A-F.

Round of 16
The Round of 16 is the first knockout stage of the tournament.
The major difference in the knockout games lies in the event of a tie after 90 minutes. Extra time is then played (two halves of 15 minutes). A penalty shootout will then be played if the game is still tied.
All teams making it through to this stage will play one game with the following schedule:
