Wolves vs West Brom: Predictions
The Baggies are currently 19th in the table after 17 games, already six points off 17th-placed Brighton & Hove Albion, though they do have a game in hand over the Seagulls. Their poor recent form has already resulted in the sacking of Slaven Bilic, with the Croatian being replaced by safety specialist Sam Allardyce.
However, life at The Hawthorns has started well for Allardyce, with West Brom still winless after five games across all competitions, managing the solitary draw alongside four defeats. Granted, that draw came against Liverpool at Anfield, but their three league defeats have been heavy and they were knocked out of the FA Cup by League One side Blackpool at the weekend.
Their hosts, Wolves, did win their FA Cup third-round tie, beating Crystal Palace last weekend, however, they followed that up with another league defeat to Everton on Tuesday. Wolves are now winless in their past five league games, losing three, form which has seen them drop to 14th.
Although, as things stand, Wolves look to be secure from the relegation dogfight, 10 points clear of 18th-placed Fulham, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men will be wary of another defeat. The 2-1 loss to Everton was Wolves’ eighth of the Premier League season, just one fewer than they lost in the entirety of 2019/20.

Wolves vs West Brom: Match Stats
Allardyce is well known for his defensive football and some West Brom fans will be hoping he can turn around their woes at the back. However, he has in fact made it worse. In Allardyce’s five games in charge of West Brom so far across all competitions, the Baggies have conceded 15 goals, including 13 in the Premier League. Their three league defeats have seen West Brom lose 3-0, 5-0 and 4-0.
Although West Brom have managed just one point under Allardyce, they have technically drawn two games if we include the FA Cup third round tie against Blackpool in which they lost only on penalties. Interestingly, both of the draws came away from home, including the aforementioned 1-1 at Anfield. Then there’s Wolves’ form to take into account, with two draws from their past five home matches. It may be hard to separate these two.
