West Ham have made a slow start to the season picking up just four points from their first six games although they were unlucky to come out with nothing from their trip to Chelsea. The London outfit were in action on Thursday evening as they opened their UEFA Europa Conference campaign against Steau Bucharest with a 3-1 victory.
At the London Stadium, the Hammers are without a victory in their last six Premier League games but this includes two meetings with Man City and one each with Arsenal and Tottenham. David Moyes needs to improve his home defence as they are now eight without a clean sheet at their own place.
Newcastle have made a solid start to the season taking seven points from their opening six fixtures. It was a goalless draw for the North Eastern side last time out as they controlled possession and shots but could not find a way past Crystal Palace.
On the road, the Magpies are still looking for the first win after losing to Liverpool and drawing with Brighton and Wolves. Both teams to net has happened in each of their last two and three of their last four on their travels.
West Ham vs Newcastle Match Stats
The Hammers have been slow starters and would be bottom of the Premier League table if games were stopped after 45 minutes. In four of their six played they have been behind going into the break and in the other two it has been all-square. Newcastle to take the lead here is the recommendation.
Kieran Trippier has already scored a goal from outside the box this season and he looks good value to net from outside the area here. Sky Bet have pushed this price on this to 14/1 and this looks worth taking. The Newcastle full-back is a threat on set-pieces as well as in regular play.
