Southampton will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing week of action that saw them lose 4-0 to Aston Villa and 2-1 at home to Newcastle. The two defeats did put to an end a run of good form that had seem them go five matches unbeaten. They sit comfortably in tenth place with no danger of relegation but removed from the race for European qualifcation. Che Adams is in decent scoring form with three in his last seven.
At home, the Saints are tough opponents with just one loss in their last 11 which came last time out against in-form Newcastle. Watford looked set for another relegation following another defeat going down to a lifeless 4-0 loss to Wolves on Thursday. It means they have taken just one point from their last four and four from their last seven. Going into the weekend they say 19th three points behind Everton in 17th and having played three games more. Mo Sissoko is one of the few players showing fight and he has two goals in the last four.
Away from Vicarage Road, the Hornets have actually lost just one of their last three which includes a draw at Old Trafford and a victory at Villa Park. That defeat though was a lifeless 4-0 loss at Wolves. This marks the start of an awful run of road matches with Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea still to play. They have managed just one road goal in their last five.
