Venezuela vs Ecuador: Betting tips, predictions, odds & match preview

Venezuela play host to Ecuador in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday night at 10pm BST.

Venezuela vs Ecuador: Predictions

Venezuela bounce into the game on Sunday after their goalless draw against Colombia on Thursday evening. The point will have come as a welcome one following their 3-0 drubbing on the opening game against top of the table Brazil.

Gustavo Alfaro’s Ecuador currently sit one so,t below Sunday’s opposition after losing their opening game against Colombia in a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Although Venezuela may have been pleased to add a point to their tally on Thursday against Colombia, a lack of threat in front of goal will be a real concern. In the 180 minutes of football in Copa America, Venezuela are yet to open their account and face an Ecuador side who will be looking to get their campaign up and running.

Venezuela vs Ecuador: Match Stats

Ecuador come into the game as the underdogs, however, Gustavo Alfaro’s men have been unable to keep a clean sheet in their previous nine games. Ecuador have failed to win in their previous three games but will have their eyes on adding a point to their tally for this summer’s competition. If they are able to seal the victory, they are unlikely to do so by keeping a clean sheet.

Enner Valencia is likely to prove to be Ecuador’s main threat in front of goal. The 31-year-old was able to find the back of the net on 12 occasions for Fenerbache in Super Lig in the 2020/21 season. A respectable tally was followed up by a blank against Colombia but he will certainly be looking to get on the scoresheet on Sunday night.
