Fulham vs Tottenham: Predictions

It wasn’t too long ago that Fulham were considered among the favourites for relegation, looking adrift from the rest of the Premier League and in the bottom three. But Scott Parker’s men have been slowly picking up the points, gaining nine from their past five Premier League matches, to move within touching distance of safety.

Fulham’s unbeaten form, coupled with the fall for the likes of Brighton and Newcastle, means the Cottagers are now just three points from safety with 12 games left to play. They also hold a goal difference advantage over Newcastle and could temporarily move out of the relegation zone with a win at Craven Cottage on Thursday.

And they may fancy their chances against a Tottenham side that has been struggling for consistent form. Although they were routine winners over Burnley at the weekend, Tottenham have won just two of their past seven Premier League games, also beating West Brom. Jose Mourinho’s side have faced Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and West ham during that run, but they have also been beaten by Fulham’s relegation rivals Brighton.

Before the win over Burnley (which was joined by success in the Europa League) Mourinho insisted his side were not in a crisis despite having problems he could not solve himself, but they are not in the best position. At the start of their poor run of form, Tottenham were fifth and embroiled in a fight for the Champions League places, but they now find themselves eighth, six points behind West Ham albeit with a game in hand. They cannot afford to drop any more points.

Fulham vs Tottenham: Match Stats

There aren’t many teams that Harry Kane doesn’t enjoy playing against, but Fulham are one who he has definitely had fun facing in the past. The Englishman has scored in each of his past four appearances against Fulham in all competitions, netting six goals including the opener in the previous encounter this season.

That game ended in a 1-1 draw, one of 11 times Fulham have held their opponents in the Premier League this season, the joint-most in the division. But, more interestingly, it continued Fulham’s pretty good defensive record. Conceding just 32 goals, Fulham do have one of the better defences in the Premier League, and have conceded just one goal in their pat five matches.
