Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich: Betting tips, predictions, odds & match preview
Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich travel to Stuttgart on Saturday at 2:30pm looking to consolidate their standing in first.
Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich: Predictions
Early league leaders and current Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich face a daunting trip to Stuttgart this weekend, with the hosts currently unbeaten in their last seven games and looking to cause a stir at the peak of the table.
The Bavarians cantered to domestic supremacy last term after a slight hiccup at the start of the season, which culminated in the sacking of Niko Kovac and subsequent appointment of Hansi Flick, and it proved an inspired decision by the makers and shakers, as Bayern went on to clinch a memorable treble.
And it is business as usual this term. Bayern once again experienced an early wobble, losing 4-1 to Hoffenheim in late September, but since that unexpected thrashing, Flick’s charges have responded in emphatic fashion, winning 11 of the proceeding 12 matches, including two 3-2 Der Klassiker wins.
Stuttgart meanwhile are also enjoying a purple patch, with the Reds currently unbeaten in seven, but five of those have been draws, including the previous four. The last time Stuttgart tasted a win over Bayern at home was in November 2007, but can they finally break that 13-year duck?

Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich: Match Stats
Bayern have won 18 of their last 19 games against Stuttgart, with their only loss in that time coming on the final day of 2017/18, in which Jupp Heynckes’ side had already wrapped up the Meisterschale. So, this should be a fairly routine win for Bayern on paper.
But, Stuttgart have proven a force to be reckoned with this term; they have bagged 16 goals in just eight games, which is their best tally at this stage for seven years (2013/14). Bayern meanwhile just missed out on the chance to match their best ever Bundesliga record. With 28 goals from eight games, it is just one shy of their current record set 1976/77.
Either way, both these sides are firing on all cylinders, so expect a high-scoring affair.
27 January 2019 – Bayern Munich 4-1 Stuttgart – Bundesliga
01 September 2018 – Stuttgart 0-3 Bayern Munich – Bundesliga
12 May 2018 – Bayern Munich 1-4 Stuttgart – Bundesliga
16 December 2017 – Stuttgart 0-1 Bayern Munich – Bundesliga
09 April 2016 – Stuttgart 1-3 Bayern Munich – Bundesliga
As mentioned Stuttgart are winless at home against Bayern in 13 years, their longest such run against any club. And although Bayern were likely in third or fourth gear during their meeting in May 2018, in which Stuttgart thrashed the already-crowned champions 4-1, the three-goal margin remains an impressive feat nonetheless. In Stuttgart’s 2018/19 relegation campaign, though, they suffered defeats home and away by an aggregate scoreline of 7-1.
