Sheffield United vs Tottenham: Predictions
Sheffield United struggled past Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup, beating the League One side 3-2 to advance to the fourth round. However, that set them up nicely for a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League last time out — their first league victory since beating Chelsea 3-0 toward the end of last season.
That said, Chris Wilder’s men are still rooted to the bottom of the table with just five points from 18 games so far, but the triumph over Newcastle has moved them to within nine points of safely while, hopefully, injecting his squad with some much-needed confidence.
Spurs, meanwhile, have struggled to find any consistency in recent weeks, despite looking like title challengers during the first quarter of the campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s men have continued to motor on in the cups but have won just one of their last six Premier Leauge outings, most recently lumbering to a 1-1 draw against struggling London rivals, Fulham. Still, such is the close nature of the English top-flight, the Lilywhites remain only six points adrift of leaders Manchester United and a win here could easily put them back in contention.
