Sheffield United vs Fulham: Betting tips, predictions, odds & match preview
Two of the Premier League’s three remaining teams awaiting their first point of the season go head-to-head when Sheffield United host Fulham this weekend.
Sheffield United vs Fulham: Predictions
After finishing ninth and just five points adrift of the European places last season, few expected Sheffield United to be without a single point after four games but, here they are, having lost to Wolves, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Arsenal so far, scoring just one goal along the way.
Luckily for the Blades, they’re actually being propped up in the table by Sunday’s opponents, Fulham, who have also lost all four of their games, conceding a massive 11 goals to give them a goal difference of -8, compared to Sheffield United’s -5.
Defensive lapses were a problem the last time the Cottagers were in the Premier League two years ago and nothing appears to have changed now under Scott Parker, whose side have shipped at least three goals in three of their four league games so far.
Fresh from an international break, both will be desperate to finally register some points and get their season back on track. Although still early days yet, no side wants to let a slump like this carry on for too long and take root.

Sheffield United vs Fulham: Match Stats
Although Sheffield United have a generally unfavourable record against Fulham, losing their two meetings in the 2017/18 Championship, the Blades have won each of their last 10 home Premier League games against London opposition since losing 2-0 to Chelsea back in October 2006. Chris Wilder’s side are much more defensively sound than Parker’s and that could be a defining factor here.
However, with the Cottagers making the third-highest number of fouls (56) in the Premier League so far and Sheffield United ranking fifth (53), along with Fulham picking up a league-high 11 yellow cards, don’t expect this to be a clean and tidy affair.
06 March 2018: Fulham 3-0 Sheffield United (Championship)
21 November 2017: Sheffield United 4-5 Fulham (Championship)
25 August 2015: Fulham 3-0 Sheffield United (League Cup)
04 February 2014: Fulham 0-1 Sheffield United (FA Cup)
26 January 2014: Sheffield United 1-1 Fulham (FA Cup)
Fulham have won each of their last three meetings, scoring 11 goals along the way, but prior that, had endured a run of just two wins in 13 against the Blades across all competitions. Given Fulham’s defensive misgivings, recent meetings could quickly be forgotten on Sunday.
