Scotland vs Faroe Islands: Predictions
Scotland have opened up their road to the 2022 Qatar World Cup with two draws in their opening two games. John McGinn’s late goal in their opening game away to Austria proved enough to earn Steve Clarke’s side a point in a 2-2 draw. Ryan Fraser levelled the score on Sunday against Israel in the 56th-minute to provide Scotland with another point and third place in the group.
The Faroe Islands opening game draw against Moldova quickly became a distant memory on Sunday as they blew their early lead against Austria and ended up losing the game 3-1. Hakan Ericson’s side currently sit fourth on goal difference with the three bottom sides all on one point each.
Clarke’s side made history late last year as they became the first Scotland side to qualify for a major tournament since the 1998 France World Cup. They will be hoping they can replicate their success in qualifying for next year’s World Cup, however, they will certainly view this game as one which should be won if they hope to keep up the pace with Denmark and Austria.
Neither side has won any of their last four international games but Scotland will be aiming to potentially break into the top two of Group F with the current top two sides playing each other in Vienna on Wednesday night.

Scotland vs Faroe Islands: Match Stats
Scotland have never lost against the Faroe Islands in the history of the two sides nine games against each other. Although the odds are stacked heavily against the Faroe Islands, they have scored in all of their previous eight games across all competitions. Hakan Ericson’s men have only recorded three victories in those games but have proved a difficult side to beat having only lost one (Austria on Sunday).
Che Adams is yet to get off the mark for Scotland but this game could offer him a great chance to open his account for his nation. The 24-year-old striker has netted seven times in the Premier League for Southampton this season and provided four assists. In his last three games in the English top-flight, Adams netted three goals against Sheffield United, Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
