San Jose Earthquakes are clinging onto a play-off position with 12 games of the regular season remaining in MLS. The Californian franchise have a pretty woeful record in recent years, reaching the final stages of the league just twice over the last ten seasons and losing in Round One of the play-offs on both occasions.
