Republic of Ireland vs Wales: Betting tips, predictions, odds & match preview
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND VS WALES: PREDICTIONS
In a repeat of the inaugural UEFA Nations League, Republic of Ireland take on Wales in Group B4 on Sunday with pride and points up for grabs in Dublin.
Ryan Giggs’ side kicked off their 2020/21 Nations League campaign with back-to-back victories last month, putting both Finland and Bulgaria to the sword by a scoreline of 1-0 — which has subsequently put them atop the group.
The Boys in Green meanwhile mimicked Wales’ slender 1-0 win over Finland but had to rely on a 93rd-minute Shane Duffy equaliser to pick up a point against Bulgaria, which positions them third in the table and five points adrift Wales.
A win for the visitors this weekend would widen the chasm to eight points between the two nations, but Giggs will travel to Dublin without talisman Gareth Bale, who is severely lacking match fitness. A stroke of good fortune for the hosts, but can they capitalise on that major omission?

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND VS WALES: TEAM STATS
Wales are in a rich vein of form at the minute and enter this contest having gone nine consecutive games without loss *prior to Thursday’s defeat against England* (NB: confirmation of result). Giggs has constructed a well-organised and disciplined side, sprinkled with flecks of quality, coming from the likes of Bale and Aaron Ramsey, the latter of which will be looking to take centre stage with his illustrious compatriot absent for this showdown.
This is not a fixture that tends to guarantee goals. In fact, only seven goals have materialised in the last five meetings, with five of those coming in one match. The other four fixtures were comprised of two 0-0s and two 1-0 wins apiece. Wales completed a Nations League double over Ireland in 2018/19 and they should resume that trend this weekend.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND VS WALES: SQUAWKA SAYS

In the ensuring years the Boys in Green went eight games unbeaten, but Wales have since broken that duck and will fancy their chances to make it three on the spin.
