When the draw was made, many looked at Group A as the potential group of death and unfortunately for RB Leipzig it has been exactly that. Halfway through the group stage, the German side are still without a point, sitting bottom of Group A and four points behind third-placed Club Brugge. Man City brushed past RB Leipzig in the opening game, winning 6-3, before RB Leipzig gave up leads against both Club Brugge and PSG. Things aren’t much better in the Bundesliga as RB Leipzig conceded an injury-time equaliser against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend to remain eighth.
PSG, on the other hand, have a commanding lead over the chasing pack in France and sit one point clear at the top of Group A despite fans not being too happy with Mauricio Pochettino’s management. The Argentine has struggled to get the most out of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as a trio and although they are eight points clear at the top of Ligue 1, the performances have not been good. It’s been a similar case in the Champions League as PSG were held by Club Brugge in their opening game before having to come from behind to beat RB Leipzig last time out (after a relatively comfortable 2-0 win over Man City).

RB Leipzig vs PSG: Match Stats
Lionel Messi has not found the net in Ligue 1 this season but he has got underway in the Champions League. The Argentine has scored three goals in three games so far in the competition, including two against RB Leipzig last time out. Messi joins Neymar and Mauro Icardi as having the best goalscoring start for PSG in the Champions League.
PSG have lost just one of their past nine away group stage games in the Champions League, winning five and drawing six – though the sole defeat did come against RB Leipzig last season. RB Leipzig have also scored in 11 consecutive matches across all competitions.
