QPR vs Brentford: Predictions
Brentford will be hoping they can bounce back after Saturday’s defeat to Barnsley which was their first defeat in the league since October. Thomas Frank’s side suffered the shock defeat at home to the midtable outfit which was also the first time since early December the Bees failed to score in a league game.
QPR have enjoyed a fine run of form in the league since the turn of the year. Four wins out of five has seen the Londoners rise to five points above the relegation zone. Mark Warburton will take a great deal of confidence from his side’s victory away to promotion hopefuls, Watford.
The loss on the weekend to Barnsley saw Norwich leapfrog Brentford into the top spot. The Bees only sit one point behind the Canaries, but Frank’s side will be hoping they do not slip up again on Wednesday night with Norwich playing the struggling Coventry.
QPR vs Brentford: Match Stats
Brentford leads the way in goals scored this season in the Championship with 55 goals. Ivan Toney has hit the ground running in his first season in the Championship having netted 23 times in the 29 games he has played. The former-Newcastle striker has filled the gap left by Ollie Watkins perfectly as the Bees hope to achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.
Toney scored in the previous meeting this season between the two sides. The striker’s second-half goal sealed a 2-1 victory for the hosts Brentford in a closely contested clash.
