After narrowly overcoming League One Portsmouth in round three, Spurs will be looking to beat lower league opposition once more and make it to the FA Cup fifth round for the fourth consecutive season. Antonio Conte’s men put recent defeats to Arsenal and Man City behind them on Monday, with a hard fought 1-0 win over Fulham thanks to Harry Kane’s superb strike just before half-time, and will be looking to keep clean sheets in consecutive away matches for just the second time this season.

Preston on the other hand, go into the match on the back of four straight home defeats in the league and will be looking to end their poor run against Premier League sides in the FA Cup, having lost each of their last five matches against sides from the top division. North End did beat Huddersfield at Deepdale in round three however, and a win here would see them reach the fifth round of the famous competition for just the second time in the last 15 seasons.

Preston vs Tottenham match stats

Harry Kane needs just one more goal to become Tottenham’s outright all-time top goalscorer, having drawn level with the great Jimmy Greaves with his strike against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday. It was his 266th goal in his 415th appearance for Spurs and the Englishman will be looking to break the record in a competition that he has been lethal in, having scored 17 FA Cup goals in his 26 appearances in the competition.

Kane has been in superb goalscoring form so far in 2022/23, despite some of his sides struggles this term. The England captain has scored 18 times in just 29 appearances, including four in his last five, with only Erling Haaland scoring more goals across all competitions for a Premier League side this campaign.

Preston have struggled for goals at Deepdale in the Championship so far in 2022/23, finding the back of the net just eight times in 14 home matches, the fewest in the division. This coupled with the fact that they will be missing both Liam Delap and Troy Parrott, who are ineligible, means Tottenham may keep Antonio Conte happy and keep consecutive away clean sheets for the first time since October.
