Portugal vs Israel: Predictions
For Portugal, this is their final warm-up game before launching the defence of their European crown.
Drawn in Group F alongside the two most recent World champions in France and Germany, they will be desperate to get some points on the board in their opening match against Hungary next week.
And with just one win from their last three games, Fernando Santos’ men will be eager to build some momentum against an Israel side that have kept just one clean sheet in eight games.
Ranked 85th in the world, the Blue and Whites narrowly missed out on the Euros – losing to Scotland on penalties in the play-off semi-finals – and are building ahead to the resumption of their World Cup qualifying campaign in September.
Portugal vs Israel: Match Stats
Portugal’s attack is likely to be led by the irrepressible 103-goal Cristiano Ronaldo, who is just four away from breaking the all-time international record.
But it is also worth keeping an eye on Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, who is the man in form for the Selecao with three goals in as many games.
Israel, who have won three of their last four away from home, will be seeking inspiration from their own talisman in Eren Zahavi; the PSV Eindhoven forward having netted six times in his country’s last eight outings.
