Scotland reached the finals of a European Championship for the first time this century in the previous edition, and Clarke will be desperate to ensure the nation don’t suffer another five-tournament wait before they re-enter the quadrennial showpiece. That 2-0 Spain win has certainly thrown down the gauntlet early doors.
Norway have made a more tentative start with just the single point coming from their two games. A 3-0 capitulation on matchday one against Spain highlighted the scale of the task at hand to qualify from this awkward-looking group, while a 1-1 draw with Georgia didn’t exactly reignite the flames of optimism.

Scotland have been formidable in these Euro 2024 qualifiers, so far scoring in every half they have played. Clarke’s men notched either side of half time against Spain through goals from Scott McTominay, while against Cyprus it was the Man Utd man again at the double after John McGinn broke the deadlock.
Erling Haaland, fresh from completing a famous treble with Manchester City, will be looking to get back amongst the goals after going on a mini goal drought. Despite breaking countless goalscoring records in 2022/23, the Norwegian has found the back of the net just once in his last eight appearances, failing to score in each of his four starts.
