Saudi Arabia have reached back-to-back World Cups for the first time since the 90s and early nougties and will be aiming to fare better than 2018 and make it through the groups stages.

Saudi Arabia made light work of their World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing atop Group B in the AFC Third Round, ahead of second-placed Japan and Australia, who only this month confirmed their place in November’s Qatar showpiece.

This will be Saudi Arabia’s sixth appearance at the World Cup after turning out in four consecutive tournaments between 1994 and 2006. The Green then endured a two-tournament absence as they missed out on 2010 and 2014 but returned last time out, where they finished third in Group A ahead of Egypt. Their best finish at football’s blue-riband competition came in their first appearance in 1994, reaching the last-16 under Jorge Solari, inspired by the likes of Saeed Al-Owairan and Sami Al-Jaber as Saudi Arabia beat both Belgium and Morocco in the groups before coming up short to Sweden in the knocouts.

Quarter-finals: The winner of Match 49, which is played between the winner of Group A (Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands) and the Group B runners-up (England, United States, Iran and Wales).
Semi-finals: The winner of Match 58 which will include one of the Group E or Group G winners, or runners-up from Group F or H. Involved in these groups are the likes of Spain, Germany, Croatia, Belgium, Brazil and Portugal..

If Saudi Arabia qualify from Group H

If Saudi Arabia finish second in Group C, they will go to the other side of the bracket.
Last 16: The winners of Group D in Doha on 4th December.
Quarter-finals: The winner of Match 51, played between Group B winners and Group A runners-up.
