Neymar’s next club? Dream, realistic & wildcard options based on transfer odds

Neymar next club odds

Neymar’s future is the subject of much speculation as the summer transfer window continues.

The Brazil forward is heavily linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, where he has enjoyed a trophy-filled five seasons.

Indeed, the 30-year-old has helped the club land four Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France crowns and two Coupe de la Ligue successes, while they also reached the Champions League final in 2020.

Neymar has scored 100 goals in 144 appearances for the French giants across all competitions, and will want to build momentum ahead of the World Cup later this year.

There is probably one big move left in the illustrious career of the Brazilian, but where will he be come the conclusion of the ongoing window?

The dream? Barcelona (14/1 with Sky Bet)

One of his potential destinations could be Barcelona, with whom he enjoyed four successful years between 2013 and 2017.

As part of the MSN front three, Neymar helped the Catalan Giants to two LaLiga titles, three Copa del Rey triumphs and the 2014-15 Champions League; scoring against Juventus in the final.

Five years on from his world-record move to PSG, his experience would be hugely beneficial to an otherwise youthful squad under former team-mate Xavi.

He would also link up again with Dani Alves, who he has played alongside for club and country. Although, his high wage demands may prove to be a stumbling block for the Blaugrana.

Most realistic? Chelsea (7/1 with Sky Bet)

Although he has shone in La Liga and Ligue 1, Neymar is yet to sample the Premier League.

The Brazil international might relish a crack at the English top flight, where Chelsea could be potential suitors (they are in fact favourites to become Neymar’s next club with Sky Bet).

The Blues would also provide the opportunity for him to link up with Thomas Tuchel, who managed him at PSG between 2018 and 2020.

And with Romelu Lukaku edging closer to a move away from Stamford Bridge following his disappointing spell last season, he certainly has more than enough quality to fill the void at the very least.

The wildcard option? Newcastle United (14/1 with Sky Bet)

As previously mentioned, Neymar’s wage demands are likely to have a significant bearing on where he will be playing his football next season.

That may open the door for Newcastle as they target their first blockbuster signing since their Saudi-led takeover last October.

With their riches, the Magpies will be looking to strengthen their squad in an attempt to launch a significant challenge at the right end of the table this season.

Although, they are at a slight disadvantage to their rivals in that they cannot offer the lure of European football at St James’ Park for another year at the very least.

Regardless, they are joint-second favourites to become Neymar’s next club with Sky Bet.
