Next Real Madrid Manager odds: Conte leads the way for Los Blancos
Antonio Conte has surfaced as the early favourite to become the new manager of Real Madrid following the departure of Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman confirmed his departure from the Bernabeu on Thursday which brought an end to his second tenure of the Spanish giants following their second-place finish behind Atletico Madrid in the 2020/21 La Liga campaign.
The Frenchman has had a hugely successful time as manager of Los Blancos, however, his latest two-year spell came crashing to an end as they missed out on the Spanish crown to their city rivals by a matter of just two points.
Madrid are going through a phase of rebuilding with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo no longer at the club but his replacement in Eden Hazard struggling hugely to get his career in Spain up and running. There are a number of young players emerging as potential superstars alongside a wealth of experience in Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric. Although they may not be the kings of Europe which they were a few years ago, this is still an incredibly attractive job.
Conte the bookmaker’s favourite
Antonio Conte has emerged as the early favourite with the bookmakers following his incredible departure from the newly crowned Serie A champions, Inter Milan. Reports have suggested the Italian was not willing to work with the Inter board over issues regarding their transfer funds.
Conte has a pretty impressive recent record as a club manager having won the Premier League and FA Cup at Chelsea and then a number of trophies during his time in Serie A at Juventus and Inter Milan. His departure was certainly a surprise and he will definitely prove an attractive candidate for any of Europe’s powerhouses.
Massimiliano Allegri’s name is among the favourites to become the next Real Madrid manager, however, reports have suggested the Italian is in line for a sensational return to Juventus following the sacking of their former player and now former manager Andrea Pirlo.
At odds of 7/1, Sky Bet clearly have a feeling former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino could be in with a shout of becoming the boss of Madrid. There are rumours surrounding the Argentine’s future having failed to get his hands on the Ligue 1 title despite only being in the job for a matter of months.
